Who is a Good Candidate for Laser Therapy?

Laser skin treatments are appropriate for patients who want to improve the appearance of their body, face, or skin. Generally healthy men and women with realistic goals are ideal candidates. Your eligibility for laser procedures will also be based on your medical history and a thorough physical examination.

How to Prepare For Laser Procedures

To prepare for your laser treatment, you need to have a consultation with Dr. Hadaegh. During this time, he will ask you about your medical history and any other surgeries or procedures you may have had. It’s also important to tell him about any medications you take. This includes NSAIDs like aspirin, ibuprofen, and any other blood-thinning medications, as these can increase the risk of bleeding.

In the days leading up to your laser treatment, Dr. Hadaegh may ask you to stop consuming certain medications, along with tobacco and alcohol. Follow his advice carefully to ensure your safety and set yourself up for a smooth recovery.

The Procedure

Most laser treatments take 30 minutes to an hour, depending on the size of the treatment area, number of areas, and the specific procedure chosen. Dr. Hadaegh will cleanse the treatment area(s) and may apply a topical numbing cream for your comfort before using the appropriate laser device to target your skin concerns.

You may experience mild sensations during treatment, such as a rubber band snapping against the skin or a slight warmth. Protective eyewear will be provided.

After Your Laser Treatment

Recovery times and result durations vary significantly depending on the procedure and individual factors. Our experienced team at Aesthetic Plastic Surgery North Shore will provide personalized recovery guidelines and employ advanced pain management strategies to ensure a smooth healing process with minimal discomfort, while offering guidance on maintaining treatment effects for as long as possible.
