How to Prepare for Neck Lift Surgery
To prepare for your neck lift surgery, you need to have a consultation with Dr. Hadaegh. During your neck lift consultation with Dr. Hadaegh, he will ask you about your medical history and any other surgeries or procedures you may have had. It is important to tell him about any medications you take as well. This includes NSAIDs like aspirin and ibuprofen, and any other blood-thinning medications, as these can increase the risk of bleeding. In the days leading up to your surgery, Dr. Hadaegh may ask you to stop consuming certain medications, along with tobacco and alcohol. Follow his advice carefully to ensure your safety and set yourself up for a smooth recovery. Before your surgery, you should arrange for family, a friend, or another trusted individual to transport you to and from the hospital.

Where will my surgery take place?
Neck lift surgery is performed at either Beverly Hospital, North Shore Medical Center, Salem or New England Surgicenter under general anesthesia. The operation, itself, takes approximately 3-5 hours depending on your specific treatment plan.
What is recovery like after a neck lift?
You will be sore with some swelling after your procedure. Discomfort should begin subsiding after a few days, and swelling will gradually diminish over 4-6 weeks. Most patients return to work, driving, and normal basic daily activities within a week to 10 days after surgery. Exercise and heavy lifting are restricted for 4-6 weeks after your neck lift.
Can a neck lift be performed with other procedures?
A neck lift procedure is often performed with a facelift procedure. However, the combination of facial procedures will depend on the goals of the patient and the surgical plan designed by the surgeon.
Are there any risks involved?
As a surgical procedure, a neck lift has similar risks to other surgeries, such as infection and anesthesia problems. The patient will also experience minor side effects after the surgery, including bruising, swelling, and tightness.
How long do results last?

Yes. There is a $150 consultation fee that is charged to you at the time you book your appointment. You will have a full hour with Dr. Hadaegh to discuss everything related to your procedure. Should you decide to move forward with your neck lift, the consultation fee will be applied as a credit toward your total procedure balance.
Will insurance cover my neck lift?
Typically, no. A neck lift is generally considered a cosmetic procedure and therefore not medically necessary. It’s best to check with your specific insurance company if you have additional questions about your coverage.
