To prepare for your neck lift surgery, you need to have a consultation with Dr. Hadaegh. This includes NSAIDs like aspirin and ibuprofen, and any other blood-thinning medications, as these can increase the risk of bleeding. Yes. Dr. Hadaegh is a board certified plastic surgeon. He is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons as well as the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery.
Where will my surgery take place?
Neck lift surgery is performed at either Beverly Hospital, North Shore Medical Center, Salem or New England Surgicenter under general anesthesia. The operation, itself, takes approximately 3-5 hours depending on your specific treatment plan.
What is recovery like after a neck lift?
You will be sore with some swelling after your procedure. Discomfort should begin subsiding after a few days, and swelling will gradually diminish over 4-6 weeks. Most patients return to work, driving, and normal basic daily activities within a week to 10 days after surgery. Exercise and heavy lifting are restricted for 4-6 weeks after your neck lift.
Can a neck lift be performed with other procedures?
A neck lift procedure is often performed with a facelift procedure. However, the combination of facial procedures will depend on the goals of the patient and the surgical plan designed by the surgeon.
Are there any risks involved?

Yes. There is a $150 consultation fee that is charged to you at the time you book your appointment. You will have a full hour with Dr. Hadaegh to discuss everything related to your procedure. Should you decide to move forward with your neck lift, the consultation fee will be applied as a credit toward your total procedure balance.
Will insurance cover my neck lift?
Typically, no. A neck lift is generally considered a cosmetic procedure and therefore not medically necessary. It’s best to check with your specific insurance company if you have additional questions about your coverage.
