Breast Augmentation Options

We use the MENTOR sizing system during your consultation, allowing you to see what your desired results will actually look like. Two alternatives to a standard implant breast augmentation include:Mini Breast Augmentation
Many patients prefer a mini breast augmentation procedure. This is the perfect choice for someone who wants a subtler improvement in the shape and aesthetics of their body. Mini breast augmentation preserves a more natural look. A mini breast augmentation is similar to a traditional augmentation, except the implants are much smaller (typically less than 275cc in volume). This procedure is excellent for athletes, women with less breast tissue, and patients with a petite frame.Natural Breast Augmentation
Through natural breast augmentation, also called fat grafting or fat transfer, patients can get larger breasts without the use of prosthetic implants. This means that there is no risk of implant rupture and no need to remove or replace them in the future. It also offers very natural-feeling results. Natural breast augmentation involves harvesting excess fat from one area of the body (like the flanks or abdomen) and then transferring it to the breasts to increase their size. Dr. Hadaegh will first perform a liposuction procedure to extract adipose fat. This fat will then be processed and reinjected into the breasts where needed. The amount of fat injected into the area will depend on the specifics of each case.

In May 2018 had a consultation with Dr Hadaegh for a breast augmentation. Back in 2013 I had had gastric bypass surgery and lost all volume in my breast and had extra skin. All I wanted was a natural breast look, that they would be proportionate to the rest of my body. Dr Hadaegh made me feel at ease and let me know what to realistically to expect with my results and what my options were for what I was looking to achieve. He and his staff answered all my questions. I scheduled my Augmentation for August of the same year. It’s been 8 months now after my surgery and I am very happy with the results. My breasts look and feel natural and they are proportional with the rest of my body. Exactly what I wanted and the Augmentation has filled in the volume that I once had before the weight loss. I highly recommend Dr Hadaegh for anyone looking to get a breast augmentation especially if you have lost volume and want to restore a natural looking breast. Other Procedures Combined With Breast Augmentation
Some women choose to have other procedures performed along with their breast augmentation in order to experience a more comprehensive makeover. Common treatments to combine with breast augmentation include liposuction, abdominoplasty (tummy tuck), or breast lift. This allows patients to experience only a single recovery period instead of multiple recoveries.What Happens During Breast Augmentation Surgery?
Our breast augmentations are performed at either Beverly Hospital or North Shore Medical Center, Salem, under general anesthesia. Both of these locations have state-of-the-art facilities that are more than capable of handling breast augmentation procedures. The operation takes approximately 1-2 hours, depending on your specific treatment plan. For standard breast augmentation with implants, Dr. Hadaegh will likely make an incision for each breast in one of three secluded locations:- Around the outer edge of the areolas (periareolar incision)
- Along the crease of the breast (inframammary incision)
- Within the armpit (transaxillary incision)
What Is Recovery Like After Breast Augmentation Surgery?
Gauze dressings or bandages will be applied to the chest area to protect the region as the body heals. In addition, patients must wear a supportive surgical bra during recovery. You could be sore with some swelling for the first few days after surgery. Cold compresses can help to reduce the swelling. Most patients return to work, driving, and normal daily activities 7-10 days after surgery. Exercise and heavy lifting are restricted for 4-6 weeks. A follow-up appointment will be scheduled to check on the healing process and evaluate your progress.When Will I Get to Enjoy My Results?
Most patients have finished with their recovery and are experiencing the full results of their breast augmentation a few weeks after their surgery date. Most implants, including MENTOR and Natrelle, are designed to last 10 years or longer.How Much Does a Breast Augmentation Cost?
There is a $150 consultation fee that is charged to you at the time you book your appointment. You will have a full hour with Dr. Hadaegh to discuss everything related to your treatment plan. Should you decide to proceed with your breast augmentation, the consultation fee will be applied as a credit toward your total procedure balance. The degree of difficulty and specific techniques that need to be used in your breast augmentation, as well as the amount of time it takes and type of implants that need to be used, will determine the cost of your surgery. What kinds of implants do you use?
We use MENTOR and Natrelle implants that are either silicone or saline-filled. At Aesthetic Plastic Surgery of North Shore, we only use FDA-approved implants. Breast implants come in many shapes and sizes.
Can I have natural-looking breasts after implants?
Of course! Dr. Hadaegh is an expert at creating a beautifully enhanced yet natural look. People will only know if you choose to tell them. Dr. Hadaegh will take detailed measurements during your consultation to ensure that your breasts’ new appearance fits naturally with your overall proportions.
Will my consultation be with the surgeon?
Yes. All surgical consultations take place with Dr. Anoush Hadaegh. He is a board-certified plastic surgeon and will be able to answer all of your questions. Am I required to have a consultation before booking surgery?
Yes. A consultation is required and essential to you getting all of the pertinent information you need so that you can make informed choices. Your appointment will include a physical exam so that Dr. Hadaegh can best customize your treatment plan, including deciding whether implants are most appropriate for you.
You will need to disclose any previous surgeries involving your breasts. Specific instructions will be provided to help you prepare for the breast augmentation procedure.
Should I get silicone or saline implants?
Dr. Hadaegh uses both types of implants, so choosing one or the other generally depends on the patient’s preference. Silicone implants come in a variety of shapes, sizes, and textures for a highly customized approach. Saline implants are inserted empty and then filled, the advantage often being a smaller incision. They may also feel more natural to some patients.
When can I sleep on my side and front after surgery?
As you recover from breast augmentation, you’ll need to sleep on your back with your head and upper body elevated. Most patients can return to side and front sleeping 6-8 weeks after surgery, but please confirm this with Dr. Hadaegh.
